Who needs TOYS when you have RECYCABLES!

We have had so much fun the past couple weeks exploring and playing with our recyclables!

I can not tell you enough how much fun we have had.  The imaginations of your children are just unbelievable!

Some of our silly children made "box bands" and played their frying pans as Banjo's!

Today I brought in clean cans with lids and we saw how the magnetic wands
were able to pick them up!

Since Sawyer and Brayden were the first ones to arrive, they were able to
work as a team of two and stack the cans and build towers!

Lucy liked the magnetic wand too!

More recyclable fun!

Rosie liked the rice shaker I made!

Lily is making music with the cans!

We are all just having so much fun!

Please welcome our new friend, Skylar!

Happy Monday everyone!

November 2017 newsletter

Welcome to November Toddler families!

A few reminders:

Joyful Noise will be CLOSED on Thursday Nov. 23rd and Friday Nov. 24th
For the Thanksgiving Holiday

As the weather gets colder… please remember to dress your children in appropriate clothing.  Please bring in hats, and mittens with mitten clips, labeled with their names, to keep in their cubby.

There is a sharpie hanging on the classroom door for you to label your items.  If your child’s items are not labeled, a staff member will be labeling them for you J

Scholastic orders are due by 10am on November 17th!
go to www.scholastic.com to place your order online!

Don't forget that BOOKS make GREAT Christmas Gifts!!

We need your help!

We are working with the children on communicating and expressing themselves by using their words and some sign language.  We have been working on this all throughout the day and noticed that it does help!

You can help us with this at home!

When your child asks for something by screaming or crying,  you can use these simple terms with them to help them to communicate their needs.

"use your words" or "tell me what you need"
with some children you can even say things like,
" I do not know what you need when you scream, please use your words to tell me what you need"

When this works, it's  amazing to see the accomplishment on their faces and how happy they are to have been able to tell you what they are in need of.

And it really does work!

Some of the signs we are working on are more, please, thank you, you're welcome, all done and help.

If you would like a copy of how to use these signs, email me and I will get them to you.  We say the word as well as sign it so the children learn how to do both.

Flour exploration!

Today we did some flour exploration!

We took dry, white flour and it felt soft and smooth

Then we added water to it

It became sticky after we added the water!

After that, we added orange and green powder paint
to change the flour from white to orange or green!

After adding MORE water, the colorful flour was super sticky!

We love getting our hands dirty with Toddler Exploration!
