March 13th
is our 5th Annual Literacy event at the Loutit District
Library! Come join us from 4:30-6:30 to
receive some free books, pizza, story readings and community family fun!
We have been working with the children on table manners, using soft
voices during meal times, waiting for a teacher when done, and keeping their
food on their plates. If you would be
able to follow through with this at home it would be very beneficial to all! J
We are also working hard on having the children use their words with us
as well as each other. You could help us
teach them to take turns and to use their words with others by doing just a few
simple things.
1. Have play dates: this helps with verbiage,
taking turns and interaction with peers.
2. Give them the chance to tell you what they
need or want. If they point or yell for something, ask them to use their words.
If they do not have the words to say, you can give them those words.
3. When playing with your child, you can help
them by showing them how to take turns with you. “It’s my turn now. When I’m done with this toy, you may have a
turn”.
