September is going to be a busy month for us!
We will be working on getting to know each child individually,
as well as working on large and small motor skills,
how to use our words (giving them the words to say, even if they can not talk yet), and focusing hard on eating habits
and table habits.
Don't forget to get out your Help us Grow sheet to help us with verbiage at home matching verbiage at school!
(See document below)
Toddler Room Verbiage:
Feel free to hang this
printout on your fridge for daily use!
You can say: “Food stays on
your plate/in your bowl” (encourage child to move food they may not want to
eat, onto another area of their plate)
“Cup stays up”
“More please, All done please, Help
please, thank you”
“Your spoon is for scooping/fork is
for poking”
“Use your words” (you may have to
give them the words to say)
“Have soft hands/feet” (when
hitting/kicking)
"Teeth are for food" (when biting) or "OUCH, biting hurts!"
“It’s Mommy’s/Daddy’s turn” or “My
turn”

child has put down an item and is trying to take it back from someone who now has
it).
